गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ Home Minister Khand visits flood-hit areas in Melamchi Politics Home Minister Khand visits flood-hit areas in Melamchi KathmanduPati September 04, 2021 FIle photo KATHMANDU – Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand this morning inspected the flood-affected areas of Helambu and and Melamchi in Sindhupalchowk. Floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains on June 15 and 30 had caused extensive damage in the two locations. A team led Home Minister Khand inspected the Melamchi Bazaar of Melamchi Municipality and the surrounding areas and the Ganesh Bazaar area of Ward No. 2 of Helambu Rural Municipality. On the occasion, the Home Minister directed the authorities concerned to reconstruct the damaged roads, bridges, houses, offices and other structures and make proper management for the flood and landslide survivors. The team also inquired about the damage caused by floods and landslides in the area. MP Sher Bahadur Tamang, former Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Vice-Chair of National Planning Commission Dr Bishwa Poudel, State Assembly members Yuvraj Dulal and Nima Lama, Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, Director General of Department of Roads Arjun Thapa, Deputy Director General of Irrigation Department Pradip Thapa, Chief Executive Director of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Anil Pokhrel and Chair of Helmu Rural Municipality Nima Galgen Sherpa were present on the occasion. The visiting team made both on-site and aerial observation of the flood-affected area.
