At a programme organised in Tikapur of Kailali district today, he said arrangements should be made for immediately providing relief in the flood-hit areas and also announcing relief package for the long-term. “Much damage has been caused by flooding in the eastern region of Kailali, which I could observe during my on-site visit to the areas there. I call upon the government to provide immediate relief for now and for long-term planned relief as well,” senior leader Poudel said. Stating that Tikapur was at high risk of floods due to the Karnali and Mohana rivers, he said discussing the matter with the government for addressing this problem in the long-term. Senior leader Poudel suggested forming an experts’ team to carry out a study in this connection to deal with the risk through modern engineering design. The NC senior leader has conducted on-site inspection of the damage caused by the flooding that occurred in various places of Kailali since October 18.
