KATHMANDU – Former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated an air-conditioned homestay at Gauradaha Municipality-5 in Jhapa district constructed by the Model Integrated Agro Cooperatives amid a function today.
Leader Oli, who has reached his home district, Jhapa to attend social programmes, jointly inaugurated the homestay, a Kosheli (souvenir) home and a senior citizen union center. Constructed in 2070 BS at the cost of Rs 12 million with the main objective of promoting agriculture and local tourism, the agro homestay spanning 12 kaththa of land is a model one in the country, claimed chairperson of the cooperatives Bednidhi Chapagain. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation provided financial assistances for the project.
The homestay located approximately 30 kilometers away from Padajungi along the East West Highway has been attracting employees of various cooperatives across the country who have visited the area to observe model farming done by the cooperatives, said Oli. The homestay building has eight bedrooms, a well-equipped room and a training hall with capacity of accommodating 80 people at once.
