Minister Rijal submitted his resignation before Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today. He organised a press conference at the Ministry after submitting the resignation. Before this, Minister Rijal had posted a status, saying he decided to tender resignation from the post. Rijal had contested for the post of Nepali Congress general-secretary under the 14th general convention and has lost the election. He decided to resign from the post soon after receiving the preliminary result of the vote counting. Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have won the election to the post of general secretaries.
