Committee president Laxman Lal Karna said that the Committee in its meeting today unanimously endorsed Shresth’a name after hearing him regarding his experience, vision, future plan and concept. The committee members had also appreciated Shrestha’s initiatives at various times for ending the red tape in the judiciary and thereby enhancing public faith in the judiciary. He is credited with settling all the cases which were pending for two years when he was working as the High Court judge in Pokhara, Rajbiraj and Biratnagar. He is one among the judges recognized for settling the highest number of cases. The Judicial Council had nominated Shrestha for appointment as Supreme Court Justice and on March 11 sent his name to the Committee for parliamentary hearing.
