गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ NC wins chairperson, UML vice-chairperson in Kamal rural municipality Politics NC wins chairperson, UML vice-chairperson in Kamal rural municipality KathmanduPati May 23, 2022 KATHMANDU – Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Hukum Singh Rai has registered his win to the post of chairperson in Kamal rural municipality of Jhapa. He secured 12,868 votes while his close contender CPN-UML’s candidate Bhim Rai gathered 9,653 votes. Newly-elected Singh was defeated to immediate past Chairperson of the rural municipality Menuka Kafle in the earlier round of local election on lottery basis. According to the Kamal-based Office of the Election Officer, UML candidate Prameela Neupane Tiwari secured 10,845 votes to emerge winner as the vice-chairperson. Her close contender Parshuram Subedi of CPN (Maoist Centre) got 8,371 votes.
