Government effortful to combat violence against women: Home Minister Khand

KATHMANDU – Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said physical safety and economic security of citizens along with maintaining social peace and order is the first responsibility of the government.

While receiving a 13-point memorandum submitted by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Women Organisation at his office today, the Minister said the government is effortful for preventing incidents of violence including murder and rape against women. He also pledged to address the memo after discussing with security bodies.

The delegation led by RPP general secretary and women department chief Kunti Shahi demanded the government prepare a separate security squad for women’s safety. More, it wants the government to make security arrangements for survivors of women violence.
