गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ Committee continues to record statement from Rana over impeachment motion Politics Committee continues to record statement from Rana over impeachment motion KathmanduPati September 04, 2022 KATHMANDU – The Impeachment Motion Recommendation Committee formed by the Parliament in regard with the impeachment motion registered against suspended Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumser JB Rana continues to record statement form him today, too. Today is the third day the Committee takes the statement of the suspended CJ over the impeachment motion. The Committee has prepared 43 questions. Today’s statement collection began with the question number 7. In the previous statement, Rana denied the charges and said he was doing his role as the CJ in accordance with the Constitution. It may be noted that Rana is charged with the impeachment with 98 House of Representatives (HoR) members registering it at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on February 13. Seeking a share in the Cabinet and professional incompetency are among those 21 charges Rana faces in the impeachment. The Committee meeting on August 24 decided to summon Rana for the statement beginning from last Wednesday. Earlier, Nepal Bar Association and the NBA, Supreme Court unit earlier submitted a 34-point letter to the Committee to prove the impeachment against him. The letter states bases and reasons for impeaching Rana.
