The political atmosphere here has been heated up with the filing of nomination forms by political parties’ and independent candidates on Sunday. Candidacy filing by high-profile leaders of different political parties has ignited the political environment in the district. Loktantrik Samajwadi Party’s chair Mahantha Thakur and Harinarayan Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) have filed their candidacies from Mahottari-3. CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Girirajmani Pokharel registered his nomination from Mahottari, constituency-1. Likewise, LSP’s leader Sharat Singh Bhandari registered his nomination from Mahottari, constituency-2. Among other candaites are Dr Surendra Kumar Yadav of JSP from Mahottari, constituency-4 and Nepali Congress central member Mahendra Kumar Roy also filed his candidacy from constituency-4. Likewise, UML has also fielded candidates Ramdayal Mandal and Saroj Yadav from Mahottari constituency 3 (B) and Mahottari constituency 4 (A). A total of 236 candidates have filed their nominations in four HoR electoral; constituencies and eight Province Assembly constituencies.
