She defeated her closest contender Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Madhav Prasad Kandel by a margin of 4,503 votes. She got 16,998 votes while Kandel 12,495. Similarly, CPN (Unified Socialist)’s Shree Nath Baral received 9,659 votes.
