Arjun Saud, 31, of Sunarya rural municipality-8 and Bashudev Pant, 30, of Godavari municipality-2 in Kailali have been arrested. Saud has been charged of raping a 13-year-old girl from Puchaudi municipality while Basu Dev is accused of helping Arjun commit the crime, according to Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Patan Gauri Prasad Jaisi. The duo had gone to see the girl, who was in touch with the two regularly via phone, in her village. Once there, they took her to a jungle in Bitthad in Sigas rural municipality and raped her. The incident reportedly took place last Wednesday. The mother of the girl filed a complaint on Friday. An investigation has been initiated while the duo has been taken into police custody, said DSP of Baitedi, Narayan Prasad Adhikari. Earlier on September 9, five people including a teacher and civil servant had been arrested on the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl in Sigas rural municipality.
