It may be noted that a meeting of the RPP central committee on Saturday decided to withdraw its support to the federal government and quit it due to a changed political scenario in the central politics over the President’s election. With the central-level decision, the party has already disassociated itself from the federal government and some province governments. In the Province 1, the party has, however, made up its mind not to leave the government immediately due to a specific political atmosphere in the Province, according to party leader and Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister in the Province, Bhakti Prasad Sitaula. The party has summoned the Province committee meeting this evening. The party has six members in the Province Assembly of Province 1. It says its cooperation with the CPN (UML) continues and the parties have altogether 46 members in the 93-member PA. Support of 47 members is required here to form the government.
