Gandaki Province Chief Prithivi Man Gurung in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the constitution appointed Pandey to the post of Chief Minister today. NC leader Pandey had staked a claim for chief ministership with the support of 35 province assembly members today itself. There is support of 27 members of NC, seven of CPN (Maoist Centre) and one independent to Pandey. Pandey was elected as the member of Gandaki Province Assembly from Gorkha-2 (2). According to the Office of the Province Chief, the Chief Minister would take oath of office and secrecy on Friday.
