Various matters related to the smooth operation of the parliament was discussed in a meeting held this morning at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar, the Secretariat of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said. Present at the meeting were Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Dahal, President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, Leader of the main opposition party, CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Chief Whip of CPN (Maoist Center) Hitraj Pandey, Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak and CPN (UML) Chief Whip Padam Giri. The meeting comes in wake of differences between the ruling parties and the opposition leading to obstruction of the parliament meeting. The meeting of the House of Representatives was affected on Friday due to the obstruction of the main opposition, CPN-UML.
