गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ SC invalidates reason behind putting Raut into custody for investigating Lalita Niwas scam Politics SC invalidates reason behind putting Raut into custody for investigating Lalita Niwas scam KathmanduPati July 21, 2023 KATHMANDU – The Supreme Court (SC) has ruled out the conditions for putting government secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut into custody for investigation into his alleged involvement in the Lalita Niwas land procurement scandal. A division bench of Justices Prakash Dhungana and Nahakul Subedi on Friday directed the police to release Raut on general date and continue investigation against the charge by prohibiting him to leave the country until the investigation is over. The court also reminded the earlier decision of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority taken on 5 February, 2020 to not initiate a corruption case against Raut. Raut was recently arrested on the charge of a forgery of government signature and documents in course of registering the public land into the names of individuals.
