गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Melamchi-Helambu road section obstructed Nepal Melamchi-Helambu road section obstructed KathmanduPati August 25, 2023 File Photo KATHMANDU – Flooding has caused disruption to the vehicular movement along the Melamchi-Helambu road section in Sindhupalchowk. The road section was blocked due to the flood in Melamchi river after a torrential rain in the past few days. Efforts of Helambu rural municipality to clear the obstruction has not achieved result due to continuous rainfall. Local resident Shyam Chalise said that the flood has blocked the road at Simkhet in Melamchi as well. The municipality has said that its workers are facing hardships to resume the road after the continuous rain there. Likewise, the flood has washed away the toilets of Sarswoti Secondary School at Helambu-4 and the classrooms are at high risk of flooding, Apsari Lamichhane, vice-chairperson of Helambu rural municipality said. The regular classes of the school won’t happen today, the school administration said. Currently, the school is working to shift the academic materials and furniture.According to Lamichhane, the school and Galthyum bazaar is also at risk of flood as there is no sign of break to the heavy rain.
