गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ Energy Minister Basnet leaves for Thailand Politics Energy Minister Basnet leaves for Thailand KathmanduPati October 18, 2023 File Photo KATHMANDU – Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet left here today for Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, to take part in the Third Asia-Pacific Energy Forum. The Forum is taking place there on October 19 and 20. Secretary Gopal Sigdel among high officials at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation bade him farewell at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Minister Basnet will address the Forum highlighting on the contribution of the energy sector in attaining the SDGs, the policy programmes and goals adopted by Nepal and the progress achieved from this, among other topics. Similarly, it is said important discussions will be held in the Forum on efforts made at minimizing carbon emission, Nepal’s role in the context of mitigating climate change risk. Minister Basnet is accompanied by Executive Director of the Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC), Nawaraj Dhakal.
