The meeting between the leaders of the ruling coalition took place a day after UML Chair Oli met with Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress. This meeting had triggered a ripple across the political circle. In recent days, Oli has expressed dissatisfaction with the budget, despite the government’s successful passage of the fiscal year 2024/25 budget with UML support. Meanwhile, the parliamentary probe committee has initiated an investigation against Home Minister Lamichhane, suspecting his involvement in a cooperative fraud case.
