Four passengers were killed and two others sustained injuries when the jeep en route to the Pathibhara Temple from Phungling, the headquarters of Taplejung, caught fire. According to the district police office, the fire suddenly broke out in the jeep (Me 1 Cha 3011) at Sewaro Chowk, Phungling Municipality-10. The deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Aadhya Acharya from Lalitpur Metropolitan City-10, 70-year-old Binod Paudel from Bhadrapur Municipality-15, his 69-year-old wife Sarita Paudel, and the driver, 42-year-old Durga Bhattarai from Phungling Municipality-10, information officer of the district police office, Bibek Basnet shared. The injured include 45-year-old Sabina Acharya from Lalitpur-10 and her 10-year-old son, Bhavimay Acharya. The injured are being treated at their district hospital.
