The 82-year-old man of Birtamod municipality- 5 died in the course of treatment at Biratnagar-based Nobel Hospital, said COVID-19 Prevention and Control Coordinator at Birtamod Health Section, Om Khadka. Suffering from asthma, he was admitted at Birtamod-based Birt City Hospital for treatment after he complained of health problems four days ago and he was referred to Nobel Hospital for further treatment. The swab of the elderly person was collected on Saturday and he tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday morning, shared Khadka. With this, the coronavirus related death toll has reached nine in Jhapa and there are 931 active cases, said focal person at the District Public Health Office, Jhapa, Jeevan Chaulagain.
