गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ UN Resident Coordinator Yahia calls on Home Minister Aryal Politics UN Resident Coordinator Yahia calls on Home Minister Aryal KathmanduPati February 23, 2026 KATHMANDU – The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nepal, Lila Pieters Yahia, has paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal. During the meeting held at the Home Ministry today, Minister Aryal thanked the UN for its continuous support in Nepal’s initiatives relating to governance reform, climate change and capacity building of local levels, among others. He also expressed belief that the cooperation with the UN would further strengthen in the coming days. The Home Minister argued that the government had accelerated activities to institutionalize democracy by holding election to the House of Representatives on March 5 in a free and fair environment. Similarly, UN Resident Coordinator Yahia enquired about expanding further cooperation and collaboration in Nepal’s drug control, border security and human trafficking areas. The collaboration with government of Nepal would be continued, she pledged.
