गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ Call for strengthening legal measures to make federalism acceptable to all Politics Call for strengthening legal measures to make federalism acceptable to all KathmanduPati October 11, 2020 MAKWANPUR : Chief Minister of the Bagmati Province Dormani Poudel said on Sunday that there is a need to strengthen legal measures to make federalism acceptable to all. Only a successful implementation of federalism strengthens democracy, he said, while addressing an annual review meeting of the district coordination committee in Makawanpur. He urged people’s representatives to create infrastructures from which people directly receive the benefits, stressing the need for effective implementation of the projects recommended by the ward committee. On the occasion, State Assembly members Prem Bahadur Pulami and Santa Bahadur Praja stressed the need for local people’s representatives playing an important role in completing infrastructure projects in the given timetable and for bringing income-generating programming to the poor. National Assembly member Ram Chandra Rai said that local people’s representatives have a major role in saving people from the COVID-19 pandemic. On the occasion, various organisations were honoured for contributing significantly to minimise the risks of the virus. The meeting was attended by mayors and deputy mayors of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City and Thaha Municipality Chairs and Vice Chairs of eight rural municipalities.
