According to Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) spokesperson Bir Bahadur Chand, the supply of water flowing from Melamchi river to the Sundarijal-based treatment center has been temporarily suspended as the water at the source of the Melamchi has become muddy, making the processing process complicated. The water at the source has become extremely turbid due to rainfall. The water supply will resume as per the predetermined distribution schedule after the source become clean. However, if there is continuous rain it may take some time to from continuity of drinking water from Melamchi to Kathmandu, Chand said.
