Nepal Finance Minister meets commercial bank CEOs today


Kathmandu [Nepal], August 4 – Nepal’s Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is set to meet the chief executive officers of the country’s 20 commercial banks on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of the government’s economic reform agenda and assess current conditions in the financial sector.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:00 pm at the Ministry of Finance. The meeting will bring together the CEOs of all 20 commercial banks classified as “Class A” institutions by the Nepal Rastra Bank.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the discussion will focus on the role of major financial institutions in implementing the economic reform measures announced in the national budget. The minister is also expected to seek updates on the current state of the financial market and challenges facing the banking sector.

The consultation comes as the government moves to advance reforms aimed at strengthening Nepal’s economy with commercial banks expected to play a key role in supporting investment, credit expansion and broader economic activity.
