Kathmandu [Nepal], August 5 – Nepal welcomed 71,775 international visitors in July 2026, marking a 2.3 percent increase compared with the same month last year according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
The country received 70,193 foreign visitors in July 2025. However, July arrivals this year remained 4.2 percent below the pre-pandemic level of 74,883 recorded in July 2019.
With the latest figures, Nepal has received a total of 6,93,379 international tourists so far in 2026. Monthly arrivals stood at 92,573 in January, 1,05,441 in February, 1,20,516 in March, 1,07,934 in April, 1,02,626 in May, 91,363 in June and 71,775 in July.
India remained Nepal’s largest source market in July accounting for 23,490 visitors or 32.73 percent of total arrivals. China followed with 11,099 visitors while the United States ranked third with 7,754 arrivals. Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan and Bhutan were also among the leading source markets.
Regionally, South Asia dominated inbound tourism contributing 41.5 percent of total arrivals. Visitors from the rest of Asia accounted for 24.3 percent followed by Europe at 12.9 percent and the Americas at 12.3 percent. Oceania, Middle East and Africa contributed smaller shares of inbound visitors during the month.
