Kathmandu [Nepal], September 11 – Prime Minister Balendra Shah held discussions with industrialists and business leaders on Thursday on the country’s economic situation and challenges facing the private sector.
The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers was attended by business leaders Binod Chaudhary, Pawan Golyan, Umesh Shrestha and Chandra Prasad Dhakal.
The discussions focused on the country’s current economic situation, problems faced by the private sector in operating industries and businesses, the investment climate, job creation and measures to boost economic activity.
The meeting also discussed ways to make cooperation between the government and private sector more effective and address challenges facing the economy.
Business leaders are also expected to share their views with the prime minister on measures to create a favourable environment for investment and business expansion.
The talks come as the government seeks to strengthen private-sector participation and revive economic activities amid continuing challenges in the economy.
