Kathmandu [Nepal], September 16 – Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava held a farewell meeting with Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal on Wednesday.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar where Khanal congratulated Srivastava on the successful completion of his tenure.
Khanal praised the ambassador’s role in further deepening and diversifying Nepal-India relations. They discussed progress in energy cooperation, trade, infrastructure and connectivity as well as the close people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Khanal also expressed gratitude for India’s solidarity with Nepal following the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River and its swift assistance in search, rescue and relief operations after the disaster.
The foreign minister wished Srivastava success in his future assignment and expressed confidence that he would continue to remain a good friend of Nepal.
During the meeting, Srivastava expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and support extended by the Nepali government during his tenure. He also expressed confidence that relations between Nepal and India would grow stronger and more prosperous in the coming days.
