Kathmandu [Nepal], October 5 – Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane and Australian Ambassador to Nepal Simon George Ernst held talks on Monday on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Australian Embassy in Kathmandu the two exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, cooperation and the expansion of Nepal-Australia relations.
The discussions also covered economic development, social justice, democracy and good governance, the embassy said.
“Thank you to Hon. Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party for a constructive meeting,” Ambassador Ernst said in a post on X following the meeting.
“I had an open discussion on Nepal-Australia relations, economic development, social justice, democracy and good governance,” he said.
During the meeting, Ernst expressed expectations that Nepal and Australia would continue dialogue and cooperation in the coming days to further expand bilateral relations.
The meeting comes as the two sides seek to strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest including economic and social development and governance.
