गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Breaking ∕ Flood sweeps away 35 homes in riverside villages Breaking Flood sweeps away 35 homes in riverside villages KathmanduPati October 11, 2026 Kathmandu [Nepal], October 11 – A flood in the Budhi Gandaki River has swept away 35 houses in the villages of Paiyu and Bagar in Chumanubri Rural Municipality causing widespread damage to settlements and markets. Lakshmi Gurung, vice-chair of Chumanubri Rural Municipalityn told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the destruction had also affected Dobhan, Ghattekhola, Jagat and Salleri villages. The flood struck at around 4 am forcing residents to flee to safer locations. Gurung said floodwaters had caused significant damage to the market in Ward 3. Police have urged residents in several riverside settlements to evacuate. No casualties have been reported so far and a detailed damage assessment is pending.
