PM reviews security measures ahead of festivals

Kathmandu [Nepal], November 5 – Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah has received a security briefing from the chiefs of the country’s three security agencies on the latest law and order situation and security preparations ahead of upcoming festivals.

Shah held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, Nepal Police Inspector General Dr Manoj Kumar KC and Armed Police Force Inspector General Narayan Dutta Poudel at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Thursday.

The meeting discussed public safety during the festive period, crime control and the overall security situation across the country.

Shah also directed the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force to strengthen coordination, information sharing and cooperation to ensure effective security management.

The briefing comes as authorities prepare security arrangements for the festive season when increased public movement and gatherings require coordinated efforts among security agencies.
