On behalf of ward chairs, NC Pokhara metropolis party leader and whip Ramraj Lamichhane urged in a statement on Monday the Gandaki state government and the Pokhara metropolitan city to focus their serious attention towards addressing the ongoing pandemic. He also urged the public to adopt security measures on an individual level rather to solely rely and expect it from the federal, state and local governments. In the statement, he appealed to the public to remain in their homes at all times, except for essential duties, to maintain physical distancing along with the liberal use of sanitizers throughout the course of trade and business activities, to continue hand-washing with soap and water, to wear face masks mandatorily and to avoid organizing programs in order to contain the virus transmission. The main opposition Nepali Congress has also urged the authorities to arrange additional beds in isolation wards with number of infected reaching 147 in Pokhara alone.
