The informal secretariat meeting is currently underway at the NCP’s party office in Dhumbarahi. The majority of secretariat members are present in the meeting, which is expected to discuss the latest actions and remarks of NCP co-chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The meeting that is being held amid growing intra-party rift has garnered attention from party rank and files as well as other observers. However, secretariat members close to NCP co-chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have boycotted the meeting. They have termed the informal meeting called by party co-chair Prachanda as a ‘factional’ meeting. Prachanda, senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam and Narayan Kaji Shrestha are present in the meeting of the main ruling NCP’s secretariat, which comprises nine members.
