The lane construction that began since the last fiscal year has been continued this year too. Bandipur chairperson Purna Singh Thapa informed that the construction of cycle lane from Mukundeswor to Ramkot has been carried on this year. The rural municipality had provided employment opportunity to 27 people in the construction works that started on mid-May 2020. Chair Thapa shared that the most disadvantaged workers have also been mobilized in the construction since last Tuesday. He expressed his hope that the cycle lane would contribute to promote tourism in the rural municipality. The construction was initiated with a view to identifying new tourist destinations in the internationally popular Bandipur. “National level cycling competition can be hosted in Bandipur after the construction of cycle lane which will further popularize the panoramic place among potential visitors”, Thapa added. The rural municipality has moved ahead by charting out its 20-year master plan for development. The rural municipality has set a target to develop Bandipur as a center of three popular tourist destinations of Kathmandu, Pokhara and Sauraha.
