According to a high level source, Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel made a telephone call today morning to propose him to participate in the current government with the portfolio of his choice and become the Prime Minister during the upcoming election. Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel is a confidante of NCP chairman and Prime Minister Oli. However, NCP vice chairman Pokharel reportedly rejected the offer. Gautam also told Pokharel that inter party disputes should be settled through the standing committee meeting, according to the source. Many party insiders believe that the offer came from Oli through Pokharel amid widening rift in the ruling NCP.
