The meeting held at Prime Minister Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar set the date of the party’s general convention for November 18, 2021. Earlier, the ruling NCP’s general convention was scheduled to be held in April. However, the Oli-led faction of the NCP has decided to set the new date for the general convention. The meeting also decided to form a 1,199-member general convention organizing committee. NCP Chairman Oli also administered an oath to the newly appointed members. The rival faction led by NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is holding the parallel meeting of the central committee.
