Prime Minister and NCP Chairman Oli-led camp is convening its central committee meeting at the Prime Minister residence Baluwatar while another faction led by Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal is holding its central committee meeting at Karki Banquet in Thapathali. Prachanda-led faction’s central committee meeting that was scheduled to be held at 11 has been postponed for 1 pm. Oli-led NCP’s central committee meeting is going to be held at 1 pm. According to a source close to the Prachana-led faction, senior leaders have agreed to make Surendra Pandey as their General Secretary. The central committee meeting of Prachanda-led NCP is endorsing their decision to appoint Pandey as the party’s General Secretary. Bhim Rawal, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Haribol Gajurel, Barshaman Pun and Janardan Sharma were also in the race to become the General Secretary. The post of the General Secretary in the Prachanda-led NCP was vacant as the party’s General Secretary Bishnu Paudel is in the Oli-led NCP.
