Light rainfall will take place in most of the areas of the country while snowfall will likely occur in the high hilly and mountainous areas as the Westerly wind will become active from Thursday, meteorologist Shanti Kandel said. The temperature will start rising after this weather system exits and it will be hotter. The weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas while remaining fair in the rest of the country today. There is possibility of light snowfall at one or two places of high hilly and mountainous region of Province no 1, the Sudurpaschim and Gandaki provinces. The weather update shared by the Meteorological Forecasting Division shows the minimum temperature in Kathmandu is 2.7 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 18.8 degrees Celsius today. Similarly, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Jumla. The lowest minimum temperature in Jumla was minus 4.5 degrees Celsius while Birendranagar recorded the higest minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius today.
