A municipal executive meeting held on Monday decided to give three-day public holiday at municipality office and government offices under the municipality on the occasion of 2857th Sonam Lhosar. Similarly, Temal rural municipality has already decided to give three-day public holiday on the occasion. All the offices and educational institutions would remain close on these three days. Tamang community celebrate Lhosar as the cultural and religious festival. ‘Lho’ means year and ‘Sar’ means new in Tamang language. Sonam Lhosar falls on February 12 this year.
