Kathmandu- Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in additional 468 persons in the last 24 hours in Nepal, spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, Prof Dr Jageshwor Gautam, informed a regular press briefing here today.
“Four hundred sixty eight persons were found to have contracted the virus while tests were carried out of samples collected from 11 thousand 447 people in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of infected persons has reached 26 thousand 19,” he said.
According to the Health Ministry spokesman, so far 17 thousand 201 persons have returned home after health recovery. PCR tests have been carried out on 505 thousand 660 people so far.
Dr Gautam said that of late COVID-19 infection has been seen in doctors and nurses working for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and news of their being subjected to mistreatment has also been received. He urged one and all not to misbehave with the medical staff.
The number of COVID-19 patients has reached 21 million 357 thousand 890 across the globe till date and 763 thousand 387 people have died from this. Fourteen million 151 thousand 766 people have recovered from this disease.
Four districts in the country, namely Manang, Mustang, Dolpa and Humla do not have single COVID-19 patient so far.
103 people die of COVID-19
Meanwhile, three more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 102, the Ministry stated. One patient each died in Kapilbastu, Parsa and Dhanusha district in the last 24 hours. Till date, 80 males and 22 females have died of COVID-19 in Nepal.
