गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Country records 843 new cases of COVID-19 Nepal Country records 843 new cases of COVID-19 KathmanduPati April 17, 2021 KATHMANDU – A total of 843 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The new cases were confirmed from the 6,004 RT-PCR tests. The Ministry stated that two persons died of the virus infection in the same period. With the recent update, the number of coronavirus caseload reached 283,658 in the country. Of the latest infected ones, the number of children upto nine years old is 17 while the number of infected from age group 10-19 is 72. Likewise, the Ministry said that a total of 226 individuals got complete recovery from the virus in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate of the coronavirus in Nepal is 97 per cent. Among the infected ones, 100 are receiving treatment in ICU and 38 others are in ventilators including 20 in the Katmandu valley. At present, a total of 5,401 people are in home isolation and 507 other are in institutional isolation beds. Meanwhile, health desks have been set up in major border points along Nepal-India border to confirm the status of corona infection on Nepalis arriving home from the Indian cities.
