गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Chariot procession with Ram-Sita statue proceeded for Ayodhya Nepal Chariot procession with Ram-Sita statue proceeded for Ayodhya KathmanduPati April 20, 2021 KATHMANDU – The statues of Ram and Sita have been taken from here amidst a chariot procession for installing at Ayodhyapuri in Madi of Chitwan district. Ram is the Hindu god and Sita is his consort. As per the scriptures, Sita is the daughter of King Janak of ancient Mithila, the present-day Janakpur region. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli saw off the procession along with the statues kept at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar this morning. The procession then went to the Pashupatinath Temple premises from the PM residence and it headed towards Ayodhyapuri along with the chanting of Vedic hymns. Prime Minister Oli had announced in June that the statues of Ram, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman would be installed at Ayodhyapuri, ‘the birthplace of lord Ram’. The statues would be installed at Ayodhyapuri after the chariot procession reaches there on Wednesday morning, amidst the sprinkling of holy water. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanubhakta Dhakal and Chief Minister of Bagmati province government, Dormani Poudel are among the guests for the statue installation ceremony tomorrow.
