The meeting aims to find a solution to the existing intra-party feud and to discuss other contemporary political issues. The meeting kicked off at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar is expected to review clarifications sought from those party leaders alleged of carrying out activities against the party and the latest talks held between party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and leader Madhav Kumar Nepal. It may be noted that as per the decision of the April 19 meeting, the party had sought clarifications from 32 party leaders including Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Ghanshyam Bhusal who were suspended earlier and four Karnali Assembly members including Prakash Jwala who had voted for Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi by going against the party whip. The 10th general convention of the CPN (UML) has been scheduled to take place in coming November.
