Public holiday announced in Marsyangdi rural municipality on demise of Rashtrakavi

LAMJUNG: Marsyangdi rural municipality in Lamjung district has announced a public holiday across the rural municipality today on the demise of Rashtrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire. The rural municipality is the birthplace of Rashtrakavi Ghimire. He died on Tuesday at his residence in Lainchaur in Kathmandu at the age of 101.

An emergency meeting of the rural municipality today morning took a decision to closing all services except for emergency services provided by all government offices in the rural municipality.

The announcement of public holiday was in memory and respect of contribution of Rashtrakavi Ghimire, it has been said. The rural municipality has also expressed its condolence to the bereaved family and relatives. Rashtrakavi Ghimire was born in the Nepali month of Asoj 6, 1976 BS at Pustun village in the rural municipality.
