Shah had decided to continue his support to the government led by CPN (Maoist Centre) at Sudurpaschim Province against the party decision. Chairperson of Sudurpaschim Province of the CPN (UML), Karna Thapa, said that Chair Oli sought 48-hour clarification from Shah. Chairperson Oli asked response from CPN (UML) central committee member Shah why he should not be expelled even from party’s general member on the basis of statute of Sudurpaschim Province Parliamentary Party. He also asked Shah why he remained in the post of minister of the Sudurpaschim Province government even after the party has already withdrawn its support from the government in the province.
