The Commission in today’s meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya concluded that since the CPN (Maoist Centre) was registered itself in the Commission fulfilling constitutional and legal conditions, the Commission will not do anything regarding the application asking about the legitimacy of the party, shared Commission’s Spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha. Advocate Saroj Budhathoki had submitted an application in the Commission questioning about the legitimacy of CPN (Maoist Centre) stating that the party had not conducted its general convention for a long time. The Commission also decided to do record-keeping of the political parties and cautioned the Commission regarding furnishing wrong details and misuse of the letter pad of other political parties, informed Spokesperson Parajuli. The decision had a bearing with the application submitted to the Commission Bhabhiswor Parajuli claiming that he was the chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre).
