The committee meeting held on Wednesday directed the Ministry of Health and Population to ensure vaccines to farmers and workers at livestock farms in time, according to committee chair Purna Kumari Subedi. Similarly, the government was made aware about the loss the farmers incurred on livestock and crops due to monsoon-induced disasters occurred in various parts of the country. Immediate relief distribution to them was stressed on the occasion. This year too, the farmers have been deprived of fertilizers for the paddy plantation. So, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has been directed to ensure chemical fertilizers to the farmers at the earliest. Adequate budgets should be managed to purchase chemical fertilizers as per the demand of farmers. Committee’s attention was drawn seriously towards the encroachment upon the land belonging to the National Wheat Crops Research Centre of Bhairahawa.
