The devotees presented offerings, worshipped the statue of Chhati Mai on the banks of rivers and ponds and lit oil lamps. Likewise, a large number of devotees thronged to pay homage to the statue in different parts of the country including different districts of Mithila region where the festival is observed in particular.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The devotees, who were having sacred meals after cleansing themselves today, the day of Kartik Shukla Saptami, offered argha to the rising sun on the banks of rivers and ponds after taking a holy bath today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The festival is celebrated from Shukla Chaturthi to Saptami in the month of Kartik as per the Nepali calendar.
