KATHMANDU- <\/span>The government has announced three dozen civil servants who will receive awards on the occasion of 17th Civil Employees Day for their \u2018outstanding\u2019 contribution and performance in the administrative services.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFGA), 40 government employees will receive the government reward.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the government is honoring 10 employees with the \u2018Excellent Civil Service Award,\u2019 30 civil servants have bagged \u2018Civil Service Award\u2019 this year on the occasion of the annual \u2018Civil Service Day\u2019 that is celebrated on September 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the government did not confer the \u2018Best Civil Service Award\u2019 this year. According to a source at the Ministry, it could not find any employee who meets the criteria to receive the award.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Basanta Adhikari, the ministry\u2019s spokesperson, said that the government did not announce the name of \u2018Best Civil Service Award\u2019 as the committee formed to recommend the candidates for the award did not forward any name.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Those bagging the \u2018Excellent Service Award\u2019 are Sushil Kumar Lamsal, a joint secretary at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, Man Bahadur Aryal, a joint secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and Prakash Joshi, the Survey Department\u2019s Director General.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kathmandu\u2019s Chief District Officer Janak Raj Dahal, MoFGA\u2019s under secretary Dilaram Panthi, Project Implementation Directorate\u2019s Sutat Kumar Bam and Public Service Commission\u2019s Taam Lal Pandey are other recipients of the award. Subhash Shrestha of Kamal Rural Municipality in Jhapa, Usha Devi Devkota (Shukra Raj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital) and Dhan Bahadur Lama (Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers) have also been declared as awardees for the excellent civil service awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, the government has announced the name of 30 staff for \u2018Civil Service Award.\u2019 Raghu Ram Bista (Ministry of Health and Population), Khom Raj Koirala (National Planning Commission) and Roshani Devi Karki (Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens), among other employees, are also receiving the \u2018Civil Service Award.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Adhikari, the ministry\u2019s spokesperson, said that the recipients will be handed over the award by organizing a ceremony after the pandemic subsides.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recipients of \u2018Excellent Service Award\u2019 will be provided a cash prize of Rs 100,000 while \u2018Civil Service Award\u2019 carries a purse of Rs 50,000.<\/span><\/p>\n
