KATHMANDU –<\/strong> CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has demonstrated the highest political culture by resigning from his post after questions were raised in the nation’s politics in the context of dearth of morality.<\/p>\n

Chair Dahal said this while responding to questions raised by the party’s central committee members in its ongoing meeting in the federal capital today. He said Sharma’s resignation has also communicated the message that only the Maoist has the culture of morality and sacrifice in the Nepali politics.<\/p>\n

Stating that leader Sharma has not done anything wrong in his capacity as the Finance Minister, the Maoist Centre Chair said it is only that some people did not like many ‘progressive’ topics included in the budget.<\/p>\n

He mentioned about several attempts to wage a split in the present coalition ever since its and the government’s formation. He interpreted what he called disrespect towards the Finance Minister as the continuation of such efforts.<\/p>\n

“The Finance Minister has been clarifying from time to time that he has not done anything wrong and he resigned from his post after candidly putting his views before the parliament on Wednesday. This has sent out a message of sacrifice and high morality,” Chair Dahal said.<\/p>\n

Finance Minister Sharma had put in his papers after questions were raised on topics including the entry of unauthorised persons on the last day of the budget formulation process and changing the tax rate at their behest.<\/p>\n

The House of Representatives, the Lower House of the Federal Parliament has formed an 11-member investigation committee to probe into this episode. As Dahal said, although some people had tried to practice ‘wrong politics’ with the motive of disgracing the Maoist leadership and endangering the coalition by hyping up an unnecessary issue, these people have been defeated.<\/p>\n

The central committee meeting kicked off on July 3, Sunday. The central committee members have put their views in the Sunday’s meeting and on Monday as well. Chair Dahal had presented a 10-page political report in the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
