{"id":16727,"date":"2023-01-18T14:42:35","date_gmt":"2023-01-18T08:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=16727"},"modified":"2023-01-18T14:42:35","modified_gmt":"2023-01-18T08:57:35","slug":"speakers-election-umls-ghimire-registers-nomination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=16727","title":{"rendered":"Speaker\u2019s election: UML\u2019s Ghimire registers nomination"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KATHMANDU &#8211;<\/strong> CPN (UML)\u2019s House of Representatives (HoR) member Dev Raj Ghimire has, on behalf of the ruling partners, registered his nomination for the election of the Speaker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The lawmaker today visited the Office of the Election Officer set up in the Lhotse Hall of the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor to register the nomination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ghimire\u2019s nomination is proposed by UML lawmaker Subash Nembang and backed by CPN (Maoist Centre)\u2019s Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair and Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chair and Deputy Prime Minister Rajendra Ligden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Born in Taplejung in 2013 BS, Ghimire began his political career as a student leader and was the National Assembly member from 2056 to 2060 BS. He is the HoR elected member from Jhapa-2. The 66-year-old leader is now the Chair of UML\u2019s Health Department and the standing committee member.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The time for registering the nomination in view of the Speaker&#8217;s election has been fixed from 1 pm to 4 pm today. The list of the nominations registered within the given time will be published at 4:15 pm today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Speaker\u2019s election will be commencing at 11:00 am on January 19, tomorrow.
